FAMILY REUNIONS

Portsmouth.

20th - 23th November 2025, Portsmouth.

This was our stay for the weekend.

The Premier Inn was so close to all of the attractions and the attached pub meant that we could choose to eat here or, at least meet up for long chats and catchups.

Breakfast in the hotel, catching up and a short walk to the quayside to catch our boat at 12.00.

1 hour boat trip around the harbour.

Back to the quay and a bite to eat at any of the restaurants and cafes available in the quayside area.

The Spinnaker Tower and maybe a cream tea in the afternoon. Ha! some hope! A party of 40 had block booked the cafe up the tower so we went to the restaurant under the tower where they'd run out of scones!

Evening meal.

We went to the Cosy Club, opposite the Spinnaker Tower.

Saturday visit to the Historic Dockyard (HD).

We were upgraded to an ALL attraction ticket and, although we were expecting to cover just 2 in the day, some managed many more Everyone visited  "The Mary Rose Exhibition" in the morning and most "the Victory" in the afternoon. A few also pulled in "The Warrior" and "Nelsons museum".

The Historical Dockland area was across the road from the hotel so not far  away.

Evening dinner was at "The Spice Islands Inn" and the manager, Sam, did us proud and kept us under control with good humour..

Wells, Somerset

14th - 17th November 2024, Wells.

This is our stay for the weekend.

Note that we must pay for parking for all days.

Wells short walk to see the Bishop's Palace, The Cathedral and the Vicars Close.

Wells Carnival, you will love this!

Saturday evening meal in the Old City Gaol!

Saturday visit to the ancient Cheddar Gorge.

Oxford

November 2023, Oxford.

This is our stay for the weekend.

Like 2022, we will get out into the city and take in the sights and this year it's a walking tour.

Stratford upon Avon

November 2022, we came together from all over the UK and the world, to be together as a family.

Apart from "catching up", we ate and drank, we did a walking quiz around the sights of Stratford and we did a boat trip that dropped us off at a riverside restaurant.

The Beautiful town of Stratford upon Avon, no better place to wander around and take in our heritage.

Here we did a "Walk Around" quiz.

The venue was the Swan Hotel alongside the River Avon in the centre of Stratford.

Late afternoon we took to the water with a boat trip along the Avon. Not sure how much we saw and nobody noticed it get dark but we enjoyed it and we were dropped off at the riverside restaurant.
