We had the morning to catch up as the Winter schedule for the tourists had started in November and the Boat tours had been pushed back to 12:00 noon.

Lynda, Valerie and Keith headed off early, to look at the shops and ensure that the boat was expecting us. As we reached the dockside, an elderly woman fell over and hit her face on a concrete plinth, almost within reaching distance of us being able to save her. We called 999 and used Keith's coat to keep her warm while we waited for help. A number of people gathered to assist and fortunately one was a doctor. Our time was spent talking to her and keeping her on the ground as she was very disorientated.

The ambulance arrived and while the paramedics looked after her, we stepped back but Valerie found another problem. The lady was being accompanied by a man on a disability scooter and he had no idea what was happening nor the name of the lady. He was clearly suffering from dementia. We had to draw this to the attention of the medics as he could not be left alone.

Eventually they were taken away together, We were left wondering how she was.
